Account setup

Create an account: Set a username and password

Start by opening the account creation page in the PtVPN user panel. Set a username and password as prompted, then submit the form; no email address is required. Use a username you can easily recognize and a password that is not reused with another service. After successful submission, the browser will open the user panel or direct you to the login page. Log in with the username and password you just set.

After logging in, confirm that you can see the account overview, plans, and client download sections in the user panel. This is the central place to manage orders, view subscriptions, and get clients; no configuration needs to be saved on a marketing page. If the page remains on a login-status check, refresh once or log in again. Avoid creating multiple accounts, as orders and subscriptions may end up split between them and make later troubleshooting unnecessarily complicated.

The check for this step is simple: you can enter the user panel and see the current account overview. The account may not have an active subscription yet; next, choose a plan based on your actual data needs.

Choose a subscription

Choose a plan: Based on monthly usage or long-term data

In the plans section of the user panel, you will find monthly subscriptions and data packages. Monthly subscriptions include ¥9.9/month with 60GB, ¥18/month with 250GB, and ¥28/month with 500GB; data resets each month on the activation date. If you use the service steadily for streaming, AI Tools, or cross-border work services, choose a tier close to your typical usage across your devices. For occasional use without monthly resets, review the data packages that remain valid until the data is used.

Data packages include ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. Do not consider only the total allowance; also consider your usage pattern. High-quality video typically uses more data than web browsing and text-based interactions, and usage is combined when multiple devices share one account. PtVPN supports unlimited devices, but all usage comes from the same plan, so leave enough room for total usage across multiple devices.

After choosing a plan, submit the order in the user panel and select an available payment method: Alipay, WeChat, or USDT. After payment, return to the order or account overview and wait for the plan to show as active. If you are not satisfied after your first payment, you may request a full refund within 14 days under the refund policy. If you upgrade a monthly subscription mid-cycle, the price difference is converted based on the remaining days; see the order page in the user panel for the exact result.

Continue to subscription retrieval only after the account overview shows an active plan. If payment is complete but the page has not updated, refresh the order status first rather than submitting the same order again. If you still have questions, describe the order issue in a ticket from the user panel.

Configuration delivery

Get your subscription: Copy the current link from Account Overview

Once the plan is active, open Account Overview in the user panel. Find the subscription information section, where the subscription entry for your current account is provided. Choose Copy Subscription Link so the complete address is placed on the system clipboard. Do not select only part of it or manually alter any characters. The subscription link lets the client read available routes and account configuration; an incomplete copy will cause the import to fail.

If you need to recognize the link format while following this guide, use the address below as a format example. It is clearly a dummy value and cannot be used to connect:

https://example.com/sub?token=YOUR_TOKEN

Get real subscriptions only from the user panel after logging in. This page does not provide a static subscription address, and account links should not be pasted into public chats, forums, or shared documents. To use another device, preferably log in to the same user panel on that device and copy the link again, or transfer it temporarily through a method you control, then clear the transfer record after importing.

Keep the user panel open for now after copying the link. Next, open the client download section and choose the entry for your current platform. The client and subscription have different roles: the client establishes the connection, while the subscription provides route configuration. Both must be ready before continuing.

Platform import

Import the client: Configure it for your current device

Open the client download section in the user panel and choose the entry matching your operating system. All clients should be obtained from the user panel; there is no need to look for an installer on this page. After installation, the essential steps are the same: open the client’s subscription manager, paste the subscription link, and update the route list. The following sections explain where to find these options and how to confirm them on common platforms.

Desktop subscription clients

Windows: Add the link in subscription management

Get the Windows client from the user panel and install it. After opening it, look for “Subscription,” “Configuration,” or “Subscription Management” in the main window, sidebar, or top menu. Choose Add Subscription, enter PtVPN as the name if desired, paste the copied subscription link into the address field, save it, and run an update. Once updated, the client should show a route list organized by region.

If nothing changes after pasting, first check that there are no extra spaces before or after the address, then click Update manually. Some desktop clients separate subscription updates from route selection, so after saving the subscription you may need to return to the proxy or routes page and choose a region. When the system first requests network-related permission, follow the system prompt and allow it; otherwise, the client may appear active while application traffic does not use the selected route.

Desktop subscription clients

macOS: Import the configuration and grant system permission

Open the macOS download entry in the user panel and launch the app after installation. The macOS client’s subscription option may be in the menu bar icon, main window, or preferences, often under “Configuration,” “Subscription,” or “Remote Configuration.” Choose Import from Link, paste the subscription address, save it, and run an update. Confirm that route names appear in the selectable list.

When connecting for the first time, macOS will usually show a permission prompt for network configuration. Read the prompt, follow the system instructions, and authenticate on the device to authorize it. If permission is skipped, the client may be unable to create the system network configuration. After authorization, return to the client and choose a route. Do not run another app that takes over system networking at the same time, as the connection states may overwrite each other.

Mobile subscription clients

Android: Import the subscription with the Add button

Open the Android client download page from the user panel and launch the app after installation. On the main screen, look for an Add button, configuration manager, or subscription group, then choose an option such as “Import from Link.” Paste the complete subscription link into the address field, save it, and pull down to refresh or tap Update. After seeing the region and route names, choose a route, return to the main screen, and use the connection switch to establish the system network connection.

The first Android connection displays a system confirmation window. After confirming, a system network connection indicator will usually appear in the status bar. If system background management stops the client, the connection may drop during extended use. Check that the system still allows the client to run in the background, then reconnect in the client. This page covers basic importing only; see the in-depth guide when you need background policies or per-app rules.

Mobile subscription clients

iOS: Open the app download entry from the user panel

Log in to the user panel on your iOS device, open the client download section, and choose iOS. Follow the provided entry to get a suitable client from the app store; do not use installation profiles from unknown sources. After installation, return to the user panel and copy the subscription, then open the client and go to its subscription, configuration, or Add Server page. Choose Import from Link and paste the address.

Save and update the subscription, confirm that the routes appear, choose the target region, and tap Connect. When establishing the connection for the first time, the system will ask to add a network configuration; follow the prompt to confirm. If a link copied from another device is incomplete, log in to the user panel again on the iOS device and copy it there to avoid transfer apps truncating parameters.

Connection checks

Connect and verify: Confirm traffic uses the selected route

After the client updates successfully, choose a region based on where the target service is located. For content tied to a specific region, prefer a route in that same region. For ordinary websites or AI Tools, start with a nearby, stable route. Select the route and connect, then wait for the client status to change from Connecting to Connected before verifying it.

First check the exit IP. View the exit information before and after connecting and confirm that the post-connection region matches the selected route. Next check DNS to ensure resolution follows the current network configuration rather than the previous connection. Finally, test the actual app: open the website or app you intend to use and complete a login, page refresh, or content load. The connection is confirmed only when the exit IP, DNS resolution, and real application behavior are consistent.

Do not rely only on the client’s green status. Connected means the client has established a network session, but it does not by itself prove that every app is using the route. If the browser works but an app shows no change, fully quit and reopen that app. If only some websites retain the old region, clear the relevant site’s cache or check again in a new browsing session.

After these checks, the basic setup is complete. For everyday use, open the client, update the subscription, choose a route, and connect. Manage the account, orders, subscription, and client access from the user panel. Updating the subscription synchronizes the currently available routes; run an update whenever the plan status changes in the user panel or the client has not refreshed its routes for a long time.

Basic troubleshooting

If you cannot connect, check these items in order

If the subscription cannot be imported, return to the user panel and confirm that the plan is still active, then copy the complete subscription link again. Check that the beginning and end of the pasted content are intact, that there are no spaces around the address, and that you chose the subscription-link import option rather than manually adding a single server. Save the changes, then run a subscription update manually.

If routes are visible but the connection fails, switch to another route in the same region and fully stop the old connection before trying again. Do not click multiple routes rapidly, as the system network configuration needs time to finish switching. Then check whether the client has the network permissions required by the system and whether another app is also running that modifies the network path.

If the client shows Connected but the target service still does not work properly, recheck the exit IP, DNS, and target service region in order. Confirm that the plan still has data remaining, then fully quit and reopen the target app. Streaming services and AI Tools may assess the access environment using the exit region, account region, and existing session together. Simply changing routes and refreshing an old page may not trigger a new regional check.

If the issue is still unclear, do not repeatedly uninstall the client or recreate the account. Record the platform, the error text shown by the client, the selected route, whether the subscription can update, and the exit-check results, then submit a ticket from the user panel. A clear description of what happened makes it easier to determine whether the issue is with the account, subscription, client permissions, or current route than simply writing “cannot connect.”

This page stays within a lightweight getting-started scope. For route types, long-lived connections required by AI Tools, per-app configuration, DNS checks, and a more complete troubleshooting path, continue with the AI Tools Access and Network Configuration Guide. There is no need to read every technical detail during your first setup.
